The Person You'll Actually Be Dealing With
I'm Alan. This is Doug, who's been by my side through most of this — my own dog, and a fairly permanent fixture in the background of my work.
I didn't set out to build a business with a team, a call centre, or layers of handovers between departments. I set out to make sure that when someone loses a pet, they're dealt with by one person, all the way through — because that's what I'd have wanted, the times I've lost my own.
Southport, Then Wigan, Now Here
Southport Pet Farewells has been going for a while now, and it's built up 91 five-star reviews — every one of them from a family I dealt with personally, start to finish.
Over time, calls started coming in from further out. Wigan. Then Warrington, Stockton Heath, Great Sankey. People who'd found the Southport site, or heard about it from someone, and wanted the same service somewhere closer to home.
I could have told them no, or pointed them elsewhere. Instead I opened up in Wigan, and now here. Nothing about the service changes — it's still me, still the same van, still the same crematorium. Warrington families just don't have to travel as far to get it.
How It Actually Works
I collect from your home or vet in Warrington, at no extra cost
Your pet comes with me to my crematorium in Southport
I'm the one who carries out the cremation — not a facility, not a team, me
I bring your pet's ashes back to your door myself, usually within 72 hours
Why the Southport Crematorium, Not Somewhere Local
I'll be straightforward about this rather than gloss over it: there isn't a crematorium in Warrington. Your pet travels to my purpose-built facility in Southport. I could hide that, but I'd rather you knew exactly what happens and trusted me because of it, not in spite of it.
What I Actually Care About
Doing right by every pet, not just the easy ones
Being straight with people, even when the honest answer is "I can't help with that"
Treating this as a responsibility, not a transaction
If you'd like to talk before deciding anything, I'm on 01925 911850 — happy to just answer questions, no pressure either way.
