Terms and conditions
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms cover the cremation service I provide and anything you buy from me alongside it. When you book with me, you’re agreeing to them. None of them take away your legal rights as a consumer.
Who I am
I’m Alan Currie, a sole trader. I trade as Warrington Pet Farewells, and also as Southport Pet Farewells and Wigan Pet Farewells.
- Address: 67 Bewsey Street, Warrington, WA2 7JQ
- Email: support@warringtonpetfarewells.co.uk
- Phone: 01925 911850 or 07746 883124
What I provide
A private, individual cremation for your pet. That includes free collection from your home or your vet’s practice within the areas I cover, the cremation itself, and returning your pet’s ashes to you, usually within 72 hours of collection unless we agree otherwise. Everything that’s included in the price is listed on my prices page.
I’ll provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
Booking and identification
When you book, I’ll ask for your name, contact details and some details about your pet, including their species, breed and approximate weight, so I can confirm the price and arrange collection. After we’ve spoken I’ll confirm the booking, the price and these terms to you by text or email.
I use a strict identification process at every stage, from collection through to cremation and the return of the ashes, so your pet’s ashes are always matched to your pet.
Collection
Collection times are arranged directly with you and, where it’s relevant, with your vet’s practice. Please make sure you, or someone who can act for you, is there at the agreed time. If something changes, let me know as soon as you can and we’ll rearrange.
Cremation
Every pet is cremated individually. I never carry out communal cremations, and your pet is never cremated alongside another animal. I carry out every cremation myself, at my premises in Southport.
Ashes and return
I aim to bring your pet’s ashes back to you within 72 hours of collection. Sometimes it takes a little longer, for example when I’m especially busy or a container you’ve asked for needs to be ordered in. If that happens I’ll tell you.
Ashes come back in a scatter tube as standard. If you choose a casket, urn or keepsake as well, I’ll confirm what it is and what it costs before I go ahead.
Prices and paying
My current prices are on my prices page, and I’ll confirm yours before I collect your pet. Prices are based on your pet’s species and weight as you describe them to me. If your pet’s actual weight puts them in a different band, I’ll call you to agree the price before I go any further.
I don’t take payment over the phone or in person, and I never ask for your bank or card details. After the cremation I’ll send you an invoice, and you pay it by bank transfer (BACS). I ask for payment before I return your pet’s ashes.
Changing your mind
If you book with me over the phone, by text or email, or at your home, the law gives you 14 days from the day we agree the booking to cancel without giving a reason.
Most families need me to collect their pet straight away, well inside those 14 days. When you book, I’ll ask you to confirm that you want me to start straight away. If you do:
- you can still cancel before the cremation has taken place, but I can charge a fair amount for what I’ve already done, such as the collection
- once the cremation has been carried out at your request, you can no longer cancel it, because the service is complete
To cancel, call or text me on 07746 883124, or email support@warringtonpetfarewells.co.uk. Any clear message saying you want to cancel is enough. I’ll refund anything you’ve already paid, less any fair charge for work already done, by bank transfer within 14 days.
Caskets, urns and keepsakes have their own rules, set out in my returns policy.
If something goes wrong
If I don’t provide the service with reasonable care and skill, or as we agreed, tell me and I’ll put it right. If I can’t, you’re entitled to a reduction in the price, up to a full refund.
I’m not responsible for delays caused by things outside my reasonable control, such as a vehicle breakdown, severe weather or a failure at the crematorium. If anything like that affects your booking, I’ll contact you straight away and we’ll agree what happens next.
Nothing in these terms limits my responsibility for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow me to exclude.
My licensing
I operate within the requirements of the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and DEFRA for handling and cremating animal remains, and I keep the records those rules require for at least 2 years.
Complaints
If you’re ever unhappy with any part of my service, please call me or email support@warringtonpetfarewells.co.uk so I can put it right. If we can’t sort it out between us, Citizens Advice can give you free, independent advice on 0808 223 1133.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones in place when you booked.
